Accreditation of Courses

EHRB has developed a range of courses specifically targeted at non EHPs working in the field of environmental health. Details of the courses can be found at www.ehrb.co.uk/qualifications. All the courses are delivered by colleges and universities. EHRB usually develop the syllabus and then accredit academic establishments to deliver the appropriate course.

The accreditation process is conducted by a panel from EHRB, normally consisting of a member of the EHRB board, an academic or specialist in the subject area and a member of the secretariat. The basis of the process, including suggested timetables, is set out in EHRB Accreditation document.

In the case of a reaccreditation, a private meeting with a number of previous and/or existing students will also take place.

An ‘accredited’ course is an EHRB course.  This assists the marketing of the course to employers as there is an understanding of the standards involved both in the content of the course and in the accreditation process.
